High quality, app-enabled air purifier
figo· Review provided by johnlewis.com · January 18, 2018
The first unit received was faulty but after contacting Blueair support they very quickly arranged for a replacement unit the next day and free collection of the faulty unit.

Wifi setup was straightforward using the free Blueair Friend App. Once connected the fan speed, LED brightness, child lock and night mode settings can be configured remotely. The App is well designed and also provides access to data from outdoor air quality monitors around the world. The top panel on the device allows for easy manual control of the fan speed as well as providing an indication of the wifi connectivity status and filter status. These controls are hidden under a flip-up lid on the top of the device. At low fan speeds it is very quiet although the highest fan speed is considerably louder. It is lightweight and manoeuvrable although it requires a 10cm space behind the unit for the air intake. The filter lasts for 180 days of actual running time so the frequency of changes will depend on usage.

As this device has no built in air quality monitor it has to be paired with the separate Blueair Aware device to enable it to automatically respond to changes in the air quality. Other models have the air quality monitor built in which may be a better option. Blueair provide an IFTTT channel which enables the fan speed to be set based on any of the supported triggers. The device itself cannot act as an IFTTT trigger for other devices. It also supports Amazon Echo and Alexa. In terms of air quality it is very hard to determine exact performance without an air quality monitor but the room does seem fresher after it has been on.

Pros:
* Simple Wifi connectivity setup via the App
* Control remotely via well designed App
* Quiet at lowest fan speed
* Attractive modern design
* Excellent customer support
* Lightweight

Cons:
* Requires separate Blueair Aware device for automatic operation based on actual air quality
* Noisy at highest fan speed
Stylish and very effective

This is a very stylish and effective air purifier. I was worried that it would take up a lot of space but it is very compact and has a very modern look so it looks great with my furniture. I like how it is light and has handles so I can easily move it to the room I want to use it in. In terms of its effectiveness I am really impressed. With the time of year we have all been choked with colds. I've been putting my purifier on at night and swear I've had the best sleep ever. Would highly recommend this product particularly for anyone who has allergies.
Great quality product!

We put the blueair in the dining room as my wife likes to cook but the windows are closed due to the cold weather.
Our lounge and kitchen is open plan so it was used to reduce the cooking smells and freshen the air. I must say that I was sceptical, but it really does work! On low mode it is basically silent. It takes up little room and also blends in quite well as it's not big and bulky. All in all it's a great product that I look forward to using in summer when pollen etc affects the family.
Such a great little product!

How much difference it would make, I was unsure. I've used the Blueair in my children's bedrooms as we keep the windows closed in winter and the room doesn't get much circulation.
In the mornings there is a noticeable difference to the quality of air in various ways. Also being that it runs so silently, the children haven't even notice it was there.
Highly recommended!
