[Rewarded Review] A Pleasant (but Not Pleasantly Plump) Surprise
ddoesreviews· Review provided by dior.com · May 29, 2024
There are three, ultimately non-negotiable, things I look for in a lip gloss. It must: have high shine, hydrate, not stick, and wear well over long periods. I am not someone who assumes that a designer product will suit my needs because of the price point, so I was pleasantly surprised by the performance this gloss - the new Lip Maximizer by @diorbeauty.
.
Firstly, the packaging feels substantial and is beautifully designed. I did note that the lid of the component, while lovely, felt noticeably lighter than the bottom, which may account for why the applicator sort of shot up inside of the tube when the lid was fully unscrewed. This had no practical disadvantage but was a little peculiar. The color I chose was a lovely coral shade but the gloss is rather sheer on the skin, which I appreciated for its versatility.
.
The (unscented) formulation contains cherry oil and hyaluronic acid, which felt very hydrating, gave a glassy sheen, and left my lips in great condition even after the product was removed. As a proper limp plumper, I'm not sure how successful this product was in that area for me personally. I have read reviews suggesting that the product has a cumulative effect that works best over time. The characteristic "tingling" you expect from plumpers was very mild and I noticed no actual plumping of my lip shape. Focus the product on the center of your lips for an immediately fuller effect and enjoy the hydrating and smoothing benefits of the product instead.
.
With all of that in mind, this is a fabulous lip gloss that I will be keeping in rotation. Its plumping powers may have been lacking in the short term, but I challenge you to find a gloss that is equal parts as glamorous, hydrating and, well, glossy. Four hard-earned stars!
The color on the models doesn’t match
Mayra· Review provided by dior.com · December 20, 2024
So this is the second time I’ve ordered a lip product where it looks amazing on the models and the color is not even close to it on me or on a swatch as I review the unboxing on my YouTube channel. Almost everything I buy ends up, looking like what it’s supposed to look like other than these Dior lip products.

It seems like the colors are always more intense and beautiful on the models, which I think are AI generated at this point. I don’t believe they are photographing the model with the product on because this blackberry intense looks like a deep purply red. When in fact, it’s just a bright red. There’s no bluish purple hue that you see so intensely that almost makes it look like a shiny maroon in the photographs advertised on the website. And since I already tried it, I can’t return it.

So I’m just a little perplexed because even with the lip reviver glow balm, they have a color called strawberry and on the models it looks bright like it almost has a pigment which I was excited about. I swiped it 15 times and never got close to that color. It was pretty much sheer. There was no pigment whatsoever. I understand the balm is a sheer line, but the photographs are telling a different story.

I don’t understand why these models, look the way they do meanwhile myself and other people on YouTube Are getting the same results where what we’re receiving does not match the color that’s being advertised. So just be careful.
[Rewarded Review] Luxurious and yet beautiful

The iconic Dior Addict Lip Maximizer plumping lip gloss receives a refresh with a new 90% natural-origin formula, a reimagined case, and updated shades.
I love all Dior packaging; it is so luxurious and sophisticated. As for the gloss, it's a very Bronzed Glow—a radiant bronze with a bit of shine. The texture is smooth and doesn't clump on my lips, and I love the scent; it reminds me of a candy from back home that smells like chocolate center mite—the exact same. This lip maximizer plumping smells [like that]. The plumping effect wasn't super effective on my lips; unfortunately, it had a minimal plumping effect. It made my lips a bit fuller but was too subtle for me because I don't like a crazy plumping effect on my lips; I like minimal plumping, which the Dior lip maximizer plumping has. It has a slight tingle and heat to it, but nothing I can't stand. Well, we all know that Dior is a luxurious product, and for a lip product like this, I think it's worth the price. I will definitely buy this again because it doesn't give that super crazy effect of plumping.
[Rewarded Review] Just a good gloss no plumping effect

I received this Dior Addict Lip maximize plumping gloss complimentary for review from @influenster and @dior. I'm super excited to try this out, as it is my first Dior lip product. The packaging is beautiful. Gorgeous, iconic, and high-end looking. The color I received was 061-poppy coral, which is described as a rosy coral shade. These new refreshed lip colors are now made of 90% natural origin ingredients. They also are infused with cherry oil and hyaluronic acid for smooth, shiny, hydrated lips. I will say this gloss is not sticky at all. The formula offers a nice lightweight moisturizing touch on the lips and does make my lips feel very smooth. As for the plumping effect, I feel this product fell short. I was disappointed that there was zero tingle or plumping effect on my lips. I use a lot of plumping glosses and love that burn/tingle feel. With this product, I felt absolutely nothing. The color is nice and neutral. A hint of a light coral/ nude shade is deposited on your lips. I love the natural hint of color and the long-lasting hydrating effect, but i really wish it plumped and added volume to my lips. For the price, I would not recommend it as just a regular glossy, slightly tinted lip gloss. If it offered the volume, plumping lip effect, then yes, I would repurchase . This was a miss for me. Yes, great gloss, but I really was looking for the tingling plumping effect at this price point and as promised.
