February 23, 2024Our dog has been on this food for years. Recently, we started a new bag and our dog started vomiting and having diarrhea. After 18 hours of vomiting and once the diarrhea turned bloody, we took our dog to the emergency vet. He had to stay for 3 days and 2 nights. After he was home and over a week later, our dog seemed better and I gave him a 1/3 cup the Hill's Science mixed with chicken and rice. That night, our dog started to display the same symptoms. We immediately went back to chicken and rice and he was fine. That's when we figured out it was the food. His ultrasound and all other test have come back normal. Not to mention, he's never had diarrhea in his 13 year life. We think we got a bad batch and will be reporting it to the manufacturer and FDA. If you also got a bad batch, please report it. You might save another dog's life.
Problems with bumps appearing throughout my dogs body.

December 11, 2023I purchased 2 bags of Hill's Science Diet Adult Perfect Weight Chicken Recipe Dry Dog Food from Chewy.com on 8/1/23 and 9/18/23.
This is for my daughter's 6 year old Golden Retriever. My daughter feeds her
Hill's Science Diet Adult Small Bites Chicken & Barley Recipe Dry Dog Food.
My daughter comes to my house on 3 evenings a week, so I purchased it to have for those evenings to feed her dog, Mali, so that she doesn't have to wait to eat late.
About 6 weeks ago, my daughter wanted to see if I could give her money to buy Mali some dog food. I said "well I have a full bag here, just take it home and you don't need to buy any more."
So Mali went from eating the perfect weight food 3 nights a week to every morning and evening. About 2 weeks into her eating the perfect weight food every meal, I noticed some bumps start apearing all around her body. I was very worried so I took her to Auburn Animal Clinic in Auburn, KS. The vet said they were not irritated, she wasn't scratching at them and he did not know what it was.
We let it go another week and the bumps became more and more around her body. The only thing we had changed, was feeding he the perfect weight from 3 meals a week to every meal. So I had my daughter go back to the small bites dog food and we completely stopped feeding her the perfect weight. We are about 2 1/2 weeks into only feeding her the Small Bites and most of the bumps all around her body are now gone, with the exception of just a few. (She had a hundred or more at one point)
Keep an eye out if you experience this same problem I recommend discontinuing use.
I would buy this product, but only when my dog REQUIRES it

November 8, 2023(* Review from a 3rd party website) The quality of the ingredients is critical. I know prices for dog food human food as well are through the roof, but please do not trade on quality to compensate either in raw material ingredients, production, or overall recipe. But it is expensive!! But it also works. However, my dog does not like the taste or smell. He eats it because that is all that he is given but I have to add a tablespoon of chicken broth nolow sodium, or chicken breast, or some other lean 'flavor' otherwise it will sit in his bowl all day and night. Would be great if the flavor profile could be improved. Given access, he will eat grass before he will eat this.... he likes the 1 Adult and the sensitive stomachskin just fine I use this dog food somewhat intermittently with my dog now maybe every other bag. He needs the lower kcal count per serving or he will put on weight or just doesn't get enough food volume to avoid the issues with an 'empty' stomach ie, bile. But it's equally painful for me to see how much he doesn't like the taste and I hate paying almost 80bag and having to supplement it so it delivers results healthily.
Astonished at how much he LOVES this food

October 25, 2024My puppy is just a baby six-year old and the vet told me he is very overweight. So we’ve cut out treats completely, but didn’t want to change his life too much so we kept him on the appropriate cups of his food at the time since he always liked that food. I took him back to the vet to see that he only lost a pound. So, I was researching new foods and I came upon Hills Science Diet. I was worried he wouldn’t like it because as humans, diet food isn’t great, so I assumed it could be the same for pups. I was wrong. HE LOVES HIS NEW FOOD. So much so, that after I gave him a tester cup he went back to the bag and barked at it for more.
