December 21, 2024I required this product because I changed the motherboard and cpu in my desktop PC. Apparently my previous Win 10 digital licence was tied to the old hardware so I’m required to buy this product which includes a “Perpetual Licence” key. It was a “clean install” so there are no other pre-requisites. Installation was quick, although I had to separately search the intel website to find the AX211 WIFi driver not included on the USB, then hit cntrl-F10 to run the install file from a command prompt midway through installation. This procedure was detailed on the Win 11 help link - at least they are trying to help. I’m a little disappointed that MS try to upsell so many subscription services as part of the install. The “OneDrive” feature captures all users person data for online storage, but there is zero mention of any risks or liability if the data security will ever be compromised. OneDrive can be disabled for local storage only if you dig into OneDrive settings menu. MS seem more interested in selling extra online storage space than explaining how it works. That feature should be “opt-in” only after accepting a disclaimer if you ask me.
Some interesting new features

November 20, 2024Generally OK, but needs careful hardware matching. Fairly straightforward installation-be careful to scratch off the small silver square on the package label to reveal the rest of the install code! The disc was bought to upgrade from a previous Gigabyte Z87 motherboard system, as Windows 10 is going out. Bought a Gigabyte B760 motherboard, i5-12400F processor, Integral V Series V2 240GB SSD hard drive, and an MSI GT710 graphics card (the Intel processor doesn’t have an inbuilt GPU). Had problems with video with the 2Gb MSI graphics card, eventually got a invidia GT1030 4Gb card, mostly cured the video/sound issues, but still have a problem when moving the mouse when watching bluray movies, causing image jitters. Other people have had similar isdues, so I'm getting a computer technician to see if it's a hardware or settings issue.

May 10, 2023Don't buy unless this is the cheapest way to get a license key.
Imagine the scene, you're building a new PC from scratch, you don't have or want to rely on another machine so you get this product to install Win11. Unless it's a museum piece from new old stock, your new motherboard has UEFI bios. You plug in all your components, stick this usb into the rear IO, hit the power button, press DEL to enter setup, and select the windows media to boot from to begin installation. You get a black screen.
You restart back to BIOS, change to boot setting to legacy mode and try the USB again, success! The install wizard starts. Or so you think, it gets to checking your setup and somehow the brand new AM5 socket MoBo and CPU are below spec to install Win11. What is going on?
This USB is based on the older MBR partition format, so in order to read it, the motherboard changes boot mode which disables the TPM2.0 module necessary for a genuine Windows install putting you in a no win situation (pun intended)
I had to make a follow up purchase of a blank usb stick, format it to FATS32 file storage on a GPT partition format to make my own windows 11 install media that would work.
[Rewarded Review] Looks good, Win10 operates better

December 2, 2024Not my favorite. I understand everyone wants to simplify things now, but the simplification of this OS just made it far more difficult to navigate. As someone who regularly has to go into settings and other administrative applications to properly optimize my PC for certain games, the Win11 has made it more challenging to do so. I personally think nothing beats Win10.
However that being said, I believe it's very nicely made, and it's a very smooth experience. Aesthetically pleasing, but from a utilization perspective, leaves a lot to be desired.
