Honestly I was hoping to like these, but after testing them and washing them I’m very disappointed. Firstly, when trying them on the crotch area goes all the way from the inseam to the hip, which is terrible and just is so uncomfortable. Secondly, when I put them on, they fit that “regular to relaxed” look perfectly up until the knee (that’s why it’s a 2 star not a 1 star because they do fit well just only on that part). I have larger hamstrings but most 32x32 jeans fit me; these were like tights (on the thighs). I’d like to say that the crotch is terrible and the thigh part is tight. Lastly, the “cherry on top” would be the poor quality of the dye. I did one light wash with water and a tiny amount of detergent, the pants just started leaking color. The pocket, the false leather logo, and anywhere else where there was a cotton or cloth material gained a blue hue (that’s a bit of an understatement when it reality it just turned light blue). Besides that the stitching is pretty good for these jeans not the “best” but solid. To sum everything up, there’s maybe 2-3 pluses for these jeans and quite a lot of cons. I would only recommend these if your legs are slim and you don’t mind fast fashion jeans that have a very weird crotch layout.
[Rewarded Review] Cheaply made with tight thigh section and a bad crotch design.

Smells Awful
cate· Review provided by macys.com · October 2, 2024
I bought 3 pair of Levis 505 for my husband, in varying washes. As in the past, all of them smell terrible, a very strong chemical smell. I suspect this comes from manufacturing/shipping and is not the fault of Macy's.
I contacted Levi's who responded that the tight plastic they are wrapped in can cause an odor (more like intensifies the odor that is already in the fabric), or the "warehouse conditions".
The 3 new pair hung on our country clothes line for 48+ hours and still smelled. They soaked overnight in the washer with vinegar added to the water, followed by washing in regular detergent and double rinse and still smelled. They are back on the clothes line blowing in the breeze. It's disappointing to say the least. The jeans themselves are just what he wants, fit etc. He's worn them for years, before they were doused in whatever it is.
[Rewarded Review] My Life with Levi's
· Review provided by levi.com · October 9, 2024
In Junior High I started wearing 501's along with most of the other guys. Somewhere around college or the Army I decided a zipper would be an improvement. So I moved to 505's. More recently, I discovered 514's. The stretch feature of the 514 fabric gave me the look and feel I was very comfortable with. I thought I was set in jeans for the rest of my life. (I just turned 88.) And for several years now I have been very pleased with my 514's. Until you stopped making them in my size (W-38 L-29)! Apparently my waist is too big and my legs are too short for you.

But then I discovered that 505's now came in a stretch fabric! Could this be the answer to my dreams coming true? So I went online and bought 3 pairs in my size.

Unfortunately for both of us, I have just returned all 3 pairs. They were baggy, baggy and baggy!!! Anyway, I'm too old to go looking for a new pair of jeans. And at 88, chances are the four pairs of 514's I have will last me just fine.
