My daughters and I were so excited to receive the 65th Blue Sapphire Anniversary Barbie! Right from the packaging, she is lovely! What stood out to all of us most is her really amazing hair! I know "collector" dolls are mostly to look at, but we always open and play with our dolls at this house!

This doll is quite glamorous in her ball gown and sunglasses! I was a bit surprised at the lack of sapphire blue included, since she is named the Blue Sapphire Anniversary doll. Her sunglasses, earrings, and eyeshadow are blue, but otherwise everything is black & white, which I understand hearkens back to her original black and white swimsuit.

Pretty quickly, this doll found herself in other clothes, which fit nicely, although her body is a bit differently proportioned than other Barbies we have. (I like that Barbie has made so may different body shapes and sizes in the past years because it is more representative of reality.) We experienced absolutely no difficulties getting her in or out of our existing collection of Barbie clothes.

One of my daughters has been crocheting Barbie clothes and is excited to use this doll to model a crocheted dress at our county fair this fall. You can see in the attached picture how pretty this doll is in an alternate outfit.

I am sure collectors will love this doll. But it is nice to know that ordinary girls also think she is beautiful and will play happily (for hours!) with her as well! She is a perfect addition to our eclectic collection of Barbies who get dressed and played with and sewn for and loved!

I was really excited to get the Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll. I got the brown doll with dark hair. But let me first tell you about the packaging. The box is quite unique than a regular rectangular box. Really shows off the dress. It so pretty its perfect for the doll collectors who don't open them and keep for display only. We are collectors but we do open boxes and "play" with any doll deemed collectors. This one will be for display only but out of the box.

The Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll is beautiful. The doll is wearing box braids which are very detailed. Long and very manageable. One thing I was not happy with was the amount of plastic on her head. See pictures for details, but it had a plastic tags which I had to carefully pull and cut to take off the plastic and to not cut any hair. If you don't pull the tags then there's a chance some of the tag will still show through the hair.

The black and white dress looks very classy but the material is very thin. However, with the layering of the fabric, it makes it look like it has lots of volume. Again, it had plastic tags in it which when removed, it left tiny holes on the fabric. I'm not sure why those were place there. This being an anniversary doll, the dress color feels like an homage to the iconic black and white bathing suit from the first Barbie as are the sunglasses that come with this Barbie. The glasses don't really go with an evening gown but you can take them off.

One detail I really loved were the gloves. They look so pretty with the bow and how shiny they are. There's a little sparkle to them. I accidentally pulled one and noticed that the gloves are actually glued to the arm of Barbie. They could come off it needed but it does leave the glue residue. The details on the face are cute too, like the freckles and how this Barbie is looking to the side and not straight out.

This Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll has not articulation whatsoever which is a bit weird but also its another way to remember how original Barbie dolls were. One of the legs is bent as in ready to pose. It does come with a saddle stand which can be difficult for some to use. It was a little hidden in the box so I almost through it out with it.

Overall, I love the Barbie Signature 65th Anniversary Collectible Doll and the details. Compared to other collectible Barbies we owned its less play friendly but great for display. I would recommend for any collector and even for children.

Very elegant packaging for this elegant model muse body style doll. She still had her sunglasses attached, though many have reported theirs being loose down behind the dress when received. Great make up with those full red lips, and her eyes are very gem inspired. Nice sapphire earrings and long wonderful hair that was thankfully (and surprisingly) free of all the gel that is usually used while packaging these dolls. Her gloves and black ribbons at top add a nice flare to the original zebra swimsuit inspired dress. The frock can easily be removed as it has a Velcro closure. The shoes complement the ensemble and are a nice style than the usual mules that you will find. Am very impressed with this doll, she will certainly compliment your collection!

This is a beautiful Barbie doll. The styling and the details of the outfit are wonderful. My daughter was so excited when she saw the Barbie in the box. She said it “almost” looked too pretty to play with. Once she opened the box she immediately wanted to take off some of the outfit pieces because she said they were so stylish and she didn’t want to lose them. She put the sunglasses and a few other accessories in a safe place. Since then, the Barbie has gone to school with my daughter and hangs out in our car. She has been a top doll that my daughter has played with for almost a month.

The doll is beautiful and well made. Any child would love to have her. I’m sure a few adults would want this doll for their collection as well.
