This is a great listen; the story is pretty nuanced, the writing surpasses what I expect for this genre in general craft & originality. Length feels perfect. Characters developed well & relationships between them interesting and often unexpected. Found myself listening all day, which is pretty rare with these trending thrillers. Dont usually go for historical but the 70s felt perfect. Definitely recommend for thriller fans who want something totally absorbing & dont love gore.

This was a good story, I didn't hate it-but didn't love it. I can see why so many people would love it, but it was too much of a slow burn for me. There are a lot of characters & a lot of alternating timelines flipping almost every chapter. So all in all, it was a good story. I definitely wouldn't call it a thriller at all, more of a Clue style suspense or even just literary fiction. I was expecting a lot more by the time I reached the end, especially after almost 500 pages.

This is one of the best books I've read this year. I will definitely be looking out for her next release. I appreciate how the author takes time to flesh out her characters and creates an atmosphere. The descriptions of the relationship between the has/has not's was also very well done. Not a fast paced sort of thriller, it leans more literary but highly recommended if you like that genre.
